Charles C. King, III

Charles C. King, III
Founder and Chairman.

Chuck King is the former president and chairman of three subsidiaries of National Commerce Financial, which was acquired by SunTrust Bank during its merger with National Bank of Commerce.

Chuck King began banking career in 1992 as president of National Commerce Financial’s wholly owned subsidiary, USI Alliance Corporation. In this position, he founded the national Senior Crimestoppers Program and established and became chairman of the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation.

Due in large part to Chuck King’s efforts, the Senior Crimestoppers program has reduced crime against nursing home residents nationally by 93.07 percent.

Chuck King, a longtime advocate for protecting the rights of senior citizens, is the creator of the “Wish Comes True” grant program for fulfilling wishes of nursing home residents, the “Time of Your Life” video exhibit for the entertainment of nursing home residents and the Welcome Home Banking web portal for residents and their families; all to improve the quality of life for the elderly in communities across the country.

Peter Gwaltney

Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Peter Gwaltney joined the SHCPF as vice chairman and chief executive officer in January 2007. A graduate of Louisiana State University, Gwaltney began his banking career at Calcasieu Marine National Bank in Lake Charles, LA. In 1990, he joined the staff of the Louisiana Bankers Association, and in 1999 was elected chief executive officer. Gwaltney is a past chairman of the Graduate School of Banking at LSU, a former member of the ABA Community Bankers Council, the ABA Government Relations Council and the ABA Emergency Preparedness Task Force.

Terry Rooker

Terry Rooker was promoted to President of the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation in October 2006.  He has a BBA and an MBA from the University of Memphis.  Joining the staff of the Senior Crimestoppers program in September 1994, he has been instrumental in the growth of the program nationally.

Tom Fehrmann

Thomas J. Fehrmann
CFO, COO

Tom Fehrmann is a 1977 graduate of Christian Bothers University in Memphis, TN. He worked as a certified public accountant before his 20-year tenure in banking. He joined the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation in 2002, and in 2006 was elected Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He served as Alumni Association President and Chairman of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the School of Business at his alma mater.

Kay Joest
Vice President

Kay Joest joined the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation as vice president in September 2002. She is Managing Director of the nationally acclaimed Senior Crimestoppers program (SCS) and responsible for the overall administration of the program on senior housing campuses nationwide. Not only does Kay oversee the operation of the SCS program, she aligns participating banks with corresponding senior facilities in the bank’s assessment areas in order to fulfill their participation in the Foundation. Upon completion, Kay organizes all charter presentations to kick off the SCS program within the senior facilities.

Judy Holcomb
Assistant Program Director
Senior Crimestoppers Program

Judy Holcomb brings over 23 years of experience in the banking and customer service industry to her role as the Assistant Program Director of the Senior Crimestoppers and “Wish Comes True” Programs. She also coordinates the “Time of Your Life” and “Random Acts of Kindness” Programs. In addition, she provides training and consulting services for the Retail Training Program for sponsoring member banks, as well as serving as the liaison for member nursing homes and providing in-house training for both new and existing nursing home facilities including staff and employees.

Lori Millar

Lori Millar
Vice President, Communications and Marketing

Lori Millar is a 1989 graduate of the University of Memphis with a BFA degree in Journalism specializing in Advertising. With 20 years of experience in the advertising, marketing, printing and sales industries, she joined the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation in September 2004. During the last five years, Lori has worked in many different capacities within the Foundation including site scouting and meeting planning for the national Doing Well by Doing Good annual banker’s conference.

George Clinard

George Clinard
Vice President

George Clinard came to the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation in June 2006 after spending 15 years with Ford Motor Credit and Security Pacific dealing with indirect automobile financing. He owned his own business for 5 years before joining First Tennessee Bank for 10 years as manager of the Consumer Lending Department. George is a 1974 graduate of University of Memphis.

 

Sue Shaffer
Vice President

Sue Shaffer joined the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation as vice president in April 2008. Before joining the Foundation, she spent 17 years in sales and operations in the telecom industry where she was most recently a regional director in the Southeast. Currently she is developing and implementing future strategic marketing opportunities. She is a graduate of Lambuth University and is a native Memphian.
