2005 Forum and Advisory Board Meetings held November 3rd and 4th, Louisville, KY

The Foundation and Republic Bank & Trust sponsored the first Forum for all banks participating in the Foundation.

Thursday, Nov. 3rd - A cocktail/reception was held at the Brown Hotel in Louisville

Friday, Nov. 4th - The Advisory Board met for a breakfast buffet and an update on the SHCPF's success and growth for the past year.

The Forum was then held also at the Brown Hotel. Some of the items presented and discussed:
  • Betsy Cantrell, featured speaker, spoke about the problems facing the elderly in long term care facilities
  • Overview of the Senior Crimestoppers Program by Kay Joest
  • A California nursing home administrator, Jodi Rupp, discussed how having bank sponsorship has helped her facility. Not only is the Senior Crimestoppers Program free for the facility, but all the other benefits that come with sponsorship.
  • The 50+ age population and its importance from a banking perspective.
  • Introduction of the "Train the Trainer" Manual and DVD/video.
  • Preview of the new "Time of Your Life" video and the 2006 Ad Campaign, "Making Wishes Come True".
  • New "Wish Comes True" Program announced and one of the first checks presented to the administrator of a Louisville facility by Republic Bank & Trust.
After an informative and interesting meeting everyone adjourned to Churchill Downs for lunch and a fun afternoon of racing.
